About Joe

Joe Giordano, Owner of Consulting, Training, and Development Services, has fifty (50) year’s experience in the human resources and workforce development arena. His vast experience includes a twenty (20) year career as a Personnel Administrator and Training Supervisor with the United States Army; five (5) years as the Human Resources Administrator for the Wicomico County Department of Social Services; two (2) years as an Employment Specialist with K&L Microwave; and twenty two (22) years as owner of Consulting, Training, and Development Services. His areas of expertise include entrepreneurship, small business development and consulting, and workforce development project and program design and management.

Joe’s military career included nominative assignments to NATO and the United States Military Academy. Highlights included coordinating security for the hostages upon their return from Iran and visit to the US Military Academy in 1981 and developing numerous leadership and management training programs to provide career progression skills for participants.

His desire to assist fellow veterans resulted in the formation of Project Opportunity in 2010 which has evolved into the only free entrepreneurship development program for active duty, reserve/guard personnel, and veterans in the State of Maryland. Over the years he has become recognized as a subject matter expert in the fields of entrepreneurship and veteran small business development.

Joe currently serves on the State of Maryland Procurement Improvement Council as a Veteran Owned Business Member and the State of Maryland Veteran Owned Small Business Enterprise Advisory Committee. He is a charter member of the Eastern Shore Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management and a member of American Legion Post 64.. He has previously served as a board member of the Wicomico Partnership for Families and Children where he was Chairperson on the Children Ready to Enter School Committee and a member of the Youth Employment Committee. Other community involvement includes being a past member of the Regional Transportation Steering Committee (Shore Transit), Past Co-Chairperson of the Lower Shore Manufacturing Network Human Resources Roundtable, and the Career Connections Board where he served as Chairperson of the Business and Education Committee.

Joe has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of the State of New York and a Masters Degree in Public Administration with a Human Resources Management Specialization from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
